CD-ROM Patch
CD-ROMs
Installing the patch:
Version 1.10 of the interactive CD-ROMs 1-27 for the Conversational Puget Salish courses requires a patch (see Courses for descriptions).  The patch enables students to register their code and use the software.
1) Insert any of the 1-27 CD-ROMs of Version 1.10 and run the Puget Salish Install.exe file.
2) Download or open PSPatch.exe by clicking on the CD-ROM Patch link to the left and run it.

Registering your code:
3) Double-click on the Puget Salish icon on your desktop or click on the Start Menu and go under All Programs.  Look under the Puget Salish folder and click on the Puget Salish icon.
4) Click on the Log On Sheet button to continue.
5) You will be asked to enter your code.  Type in your code and hit the next button or press Return.  (You now have the option copy your code by highlighting it in your E-mail and press CTL+C.  Then click in the box to enter your code and paste it by pressing CTL+V.  Hit the Next button or press Return.)
6) If your code was entered correctly, you will receive a congratulatory dialog box.  Press OK.

Registering another user:
7) If you need to register another user on the same computer, click on Register a New Name and repeat 5 and 6.

Replacing your expired code:
If your code is expired and you have a new code do the following:
8) If you have not done so already, send your database to Zalmai Zahir for review.  Follow steps 14- 15.
9)Highlight your name and press the Delete Name button.
10) You will be asked if you want to continue twice.  Press the Continue button twice.
11) Your database is now deleted.  If there are no other users on your computer, go to steps 3-6, otherwise go to step 7.

Using the programs:
12) You are now ready to use the CD-ROMs.  Make sure a CD is in the CD Drive, highlight you name and press OK.
13) Under daily lessons, click on the first lesson.  Complete each lesson before going on to the next.  It may seem repetitious because it is.  Ideal language acquisition is repetitious.

Sending your database:
Send Zalmai Zahir your database on a regular basis to be reviewed:
14) Open a new E-mail and address it to zalmaizahir@msn.com, subject: database.
1) Attach the database to your E-mail and send it.
For version 1.10, the database is located at c:/program files/Puget Salish/bcpsdatabase.cst.
For version 2.02, the database is located at c:/bcpsdatabase.cst.
